Buying a G35

I am in the process of looking/buying a 2003 g35. I would like to know is there anything major that I should be aware of or look into more when test driving? Please any info. Thanks.

I wouldnt buy a 2003 G35. Go with atleast an 04 simply because the 03 is the first year for the G35 and everyone knows that the first year for any model always has all the bugs.

My 03 (a real 03, not 03.5) runs flawlessly.

OP: Search, search, search...

How much are you looking to spend?

And you will learn more by just searching the site than you will by making a thread, unless you have a pretty specific question.

Wow...what made you decide to go from a M5 to a G? The M5 is arguably the best all around car for luxury/power/handling...

trust me after 5+ years all the 1st year bugs will have been fixed. The 6 speed 03.5 transmission was upgraded and had less problems than the 03. The window and door lock motors on these cars are weak and frequently go out. The CD player also has problems, so you should thouroughly check those things out.

Well I went a test drove the car yesterday and it is a 03 and not 3.5. Everything seemed pretty good except when you blip the throttle there is a rattling noise. The car had a full injen exhaust which he said was making the noise. The noise was also heard while driving. I couldnt tell if it was the road but the car got a little rough and I felt it through the shifter when i got into the higher revs. The car has 56000 miles and is still under warranty but would it still have warranty if I buy it or does it transer to the next owner?

the factory warranty will transfer to your name but depending on what the problem is and what kind of mods are on it they might void it on u.

I think if he just has an exhaust, then the only thing voided would be the exhaust system-or if there was a problem and they were somehow convinced that the exhaust system had something to do with the engine failing or whatever-
