Newb here

Hey, I am looking into buying a G35 coupe. Some features I want are 6spd, 18in wheels, spoiler is a must on that car, brembos, heated seats.

Also I have been wondering what year they came out with the 298hp engine, or is that the same engine they always have had?

Any tips or advice as to what to look for would be really helpful. Also I would like to try to stay between 15-18 if possible.

Any tips on where to look? I've been looking at cars.com I am in the NY, Long Island area.

Thanks guy.

The 298hp engine is offered only with the 6spd g's. I would suggest finding a G with the sport package.

Yes I would definatly want the sport package. Also the aero package, if thats what has the spoiler? Is that too much to ask for, for that price?
But the 298hp engine only comes with the 05+? I am definatly going to get the 6spd.

Also what is the rev up motor? How is it different than the other engine?

Also what is a good site to look for clean G's?

2003, 2004: Brembo + 280HP
2005 - 2007: No Brembo + 298HP

18 inch wheels are the minimum you can get on this car, so whatever year you take you are a winner

He's got it right. Also, 6MT automatically adds the sport package, which adds 18" rims for 03-04, and 19" rims for 05-07. This also means that the sport package comes with summer tires, so if you have any plans to drive in winter, you NEED winter or all-season tires.

Spoiler isn't a must, you can put that on after.

The spoiler is part of the aero package; I just bought an 07 with 15K on it, 5 AT, Nav, Prem pack, Sport Pack, Aero Pack for $24,700 after looking for 2 weeks on Ebay, Autotrader and Cars.com....some things you need to consider are what is your budget-silly sounding I know but that gives you your starting point for research; decide what packages you want-the Prem has the Bose, heated seats, dual zone, sunroof, 2 position memory seat, homelink rear view mirrror...

I think all 6MT's come with the "sport package"

If you want the spoiler you have to get the aero package..

How far away are you willing to travel to pick it up?

Understand if you find one you like not nearby you will have shipping charges..a car I was looking at in IL to ship to VA was around $600..

Are you willing yo buy a car unseen?

Hope that helps!

Hey guys thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it. Is there a big difference between the two different engines?

Also about what are the 0-60 times with each engine.

Thanks!

yes, the 05+ has known issues with excessive oil consumption, but it may be mostly with the automatics, not 100% sure

I would like to try to stay between 15-18 if possible
you will be looking at 03-04 in that price range
