Re: Anybody have window problems?
Thanks for all the feedback.... get this guys: Mine totally failed today while it was raining like crazy!!! It started lowering and raising by itself and finally just went totally down.. I am super ill. I called my dealer asap (after high-tailing it to my house's garage) and they just told me to see them in the morning. I just can't believe this....a $38000+ car and a crappy problem like this. Its like saying the clock is broke or something. Infiniti needs a serious recall!!!!

Re: Anybody have window problems?
I guess I should have checked to see if they had a motor in stock, b/c that is what I need. The dealer now has to order one and who knows when it will come in.... I told them ahead of time what my problem was, but their response is that Infiniti HQ does not let them order parts just because a customer "thinks" they know what is wrong.... so basically they told me that they don't want to eat the cost for getting a part and that part not actually being the right one....go figure!
My word to Infiniti, is that they should make all dealers stock a good number of these motors as so many people keep having problems. Right now, my co-workers are ragging me big time that my nice car is crap because their more basic cars' windows work fine. The ridicule is non-stop..... I know they are just kidding, but maybe they have a point? I mean I paid $38000+ for my ride and my window doesn't work....that is just sad. How do you guys feel about this?
Just a side note, I do plan on calling Infiniti Consumer Affairs about these faulty windows....something needs to be done ASAP.

Re: Anybody have window problems?
Definately strange!! Mine stopped working last week.
Try this, next time it stops, push the window down by hand about an inch. See if that re-seats the window and it starts working again. This is the problem with mine. One day, it went up and would not go down. Now, whenever it freezes, I just gently force it down by hand, like I said, about an inch. This is real easy as it seems the window has come off the rail or something, and then the window works again (until it becomes unseaed again).
BTW, I go an appointment Fri. to replace the motor as well. It seems to me the motor is not the culprit with my problem, more like a linkage problem. I'm pretty sure the windows are designed to fail if there is too much resistance in them, to prevent theglass from breaking, or cutting someone's arm off!!
Let us know how it goes.

Re: Anybody have window problems?
After a little more thinking about my situation, here is what I think the problem may be. I think that the seal at the top of the door for the windows, is grabbing the glass to tight when the window is rolled up. Because of this tight fit, the seal is providing way too much resistance when the window is rolled back down. This could be causing the window to be yanked free and unseated from the rest of the window assembly, or the resistance could be causing the motor to slowly fail b/c of stress. I will run it by the techs. Friday when I go in.

Re: Anybody have window problems?
after 14 months of owning my G, my drivers side window motor finally went. I rolled it down the other weekend, and it would not go back up...weird...no signs or anyhting...just went down and would not go back up...I took it to the dealer and they replaced the motor. Now everything is fine. I know a lot of people who's motor's have gone between the 10-14 month range of owning their G's.
