Hey everybody,

Just curious if anyone has had major issues with their automatic/power windows. I have had my car since November 2002 and never had a major issue until now. It would seem that my driver side window has just suddenly stopped working. It doesn't make any sounds or anything...it simply does not work...not even when I open and close the door. Is this happening a lot to people? I can't believe a car like this has this type of issue. I have been very satisfied about the quality of the car until this point....I hope this is something Infiniti will easily explain as soon as I make a visit to the dealer because the car isn't even that old yet. I welcome anybody's feedback on this and let me know if you had a problem with getting the dealer to fix it. Thanks for your time!

 

Window problems are quite common. The window system is fairly complicated and leaves lots of room for failures. If the window isn't moving at all then it is most likely either a problem with the window motor or the BCM. The dealer should replace it free either way under warrenty.

After a year, my passenger side window decided to quit working (my first problem since new). I went to the dealer and they found that the motor was shot -a common problem and covered by the warranty. It took two weeks for the part to arrived due to the high failure rate and demand.

Window issues are faily common here, from creaks and groans, to not seating properly, to having a mind of their own, to not working at all.
All covered under warranty, just means another trip to the dealer.

My passenger window just stopped working yesterday for the second time. I brought it in a few weeks ago and they said it was a timing issue. I think that is crap. Needless to say it wasn't replaced and went out again yesterday. Since I am bringing it in I am having them fix the creaking in the driver side door.

 

my passenger side window crapped out yesterday. it's been about a year. it wouldn't go back up so i took it to the dealer yesterday and it should be fixed tomorrow. the same thing has happened to my mom's x5 about 3 times. good luck.

Has anyone heard why the motors fail so frequently? I don't think my poor windows stand a change at making it a full year Stupid window mod testing.....

This is strange, but my driver window stopped working today as well. Dealer said maybe the motor, I am worried that closing my door may damage my window. Dealer said no potential damage just more wind noise.

this is really strange! my drivers side window stop working this morning also ..is this a Twilight Zone episode or what..

 

I just had a new motor put in my drivers side last week after 14 months. I went down and never went baclk up.

My coupe was 14 months old last week. Just today I started having window problems for the first time. It went up and then dropped down about 4 inches. Happened several times. One time, it didn't go back up for a couple seconds after I pushed the button.

 

for my coupe, the passenger side window didn't completely go back up after closing the door. happened 3 x since ownership. i couldn't bring it to the dealership because when you restart the engine, it'll work again. if it's that common, infiniti should make it as "recall" .....

 

My driver side window failed this morning. Stuck in the down position. Dealer said they would try to fix it today. I hope they have the part in stock, whatever they need.
