Exclamation ?? for all brilliant silver owners!! please look!!

Hey there all!

I recently got rearended in my G, which is a brilliant silver. and i got it back from the shop this past week and the inside of the trunk lid is NOT painted to match the rest of the car!! its some dull flat gray color! and when i asked about it they said, the inside of the trunk lids are like that! well i do NOT remember the inside of my trunk lid being an entirely different color from the rest of the car, i mean even the hardware attatching the trunk to the car itself is painted brilliant silver!! and its really noticeable too!! i took some pix but the lighting is terrible cuz its in the carport at nite, ill take some tomorrow in the day light, can someone please verify that their inside of the trunk lid is indeed the same color as the rest of the car??! thank you soo much for your time!!

Mine is duller than the outside of the trunk, but it's at least about the same color. Can you post a pic of what yours looks like and I'll verify if it's the same as mine?

yea, all cars have a diff "underbody" paint code (for under hood / trunk) than the paint for the exterior... but maybe they got yours wrong and it isn't what it is supposed to be since it is so noticeable to you? that's all i can come up with...

Don't let these guys get to you. As far as your problem...it's normal so don't worry about it. Glad to hear you are ok.

I was just sayin' you owned yourself by thinking the shop got it wrong and tried to prove it to them. Sorry about your incident - not your fault.

Did they repaint the whole car?

Maybe they didn't match the paint to the exact colour and now that it's off by a little bit you can notice it?

ok so i just got off the phone with infiniti and they told me it should be painted to match! not just a flat gray color! i totally knew it! and then the guy at the body shop is telling me no no we just matched it to your old trunk lid.... i think i know my car though, that was the very first thing i noticed when i opened up my fn cars trunk! ugh! im just gonna bring it to infiniti so they can verify for themselves and then take it somewhere else! this whole ordeal is an fn pain in so many ways!
oh and im seeing my lawyer tomorrow, wish me luck on this im totally sueing this assclown for doing this to me! hes a moron!!
thanks again to everyone and ill keep you all updated!

if yours was painted, it could have been in a previous collision and they just painted the whole trunk...it's a possibility...
