I have contemplated on buying a G for a year but after I saw the mustang GT, I have lost it all... First of all, they are cars of similar class... yes the G is definitely more on the luxury side but the fact that they're both high-performance coupes attracts me... any opinions? I've thought it through many times and I'm leaning towards the mustang... But I want to hear what you guys have to say... to make sure I am making the right decision...

BTW, I'm talking about Mustang GT or Cobra... not the base model... and I want to do the GT-R make-up to it... seriously, the Mustang GT-R looks SO SWEET!

But seriously, it depends on if you want American muscle or if you want import reliability. I have always liked Mustangs, espacially the classic ones. I happen to like the new design with the retro look for 2005. Some people don't like it. Take a test drive in each, then decide.

I believe that is where the side exhausts are supposed to be. Seems as if they photoshopped some other picture in that place.

 

I personally love the look of the new mustangs. I have hated every bodystyle for the past 20 some years, but now that they have brought back the 60's fastback GT500ish look; I love it. It is a tough decision, but it really is 2 different types of car. You have to ask yourself if you want a straight up muscle car that in 2 years everyone and their mother will have, or a more luxurious sporty car that will last through the years.

I'm with you. The new Mustang looks like it was designed by a 12 year old in the middle of a grande mal epileptic seizure. Obviously the concepts of subtlety and sophistication are entirely unheard of at FoMoCo.

 

Well, if you're talking about the next Mustang SVT Cobra, I believe Ford is going to try to make it an M3 competitor. That would probably mean some serious performance for about the same price as a G35.
Personally speaking I don't think I could ever fork over that much money for a Ford product, but the next Mustang SVT Cobra would definitely be a very compelling car. By the way,I think the new Mustang looks pretty good, but not as good as the G coupe.[img]/w3timages/icons/wink.gif[/img]

but seriously, if you are looking to buy 05 mustang, i'd wait another one or two year just to make sure i'm getting less-problem model since its the FORD.

 

The thing on the rear fender is the side exhaust... the GT-R was designed like that... and what are you talking about??? that thing looks AMAZING... yes G35 is damn nice but where I live (la jolla / L.A), you see at least 5 G35s a day... yes you do see 10 mustangs as well but to me, it's not a huge diff...

 

That picture is the future racing version of the Mustang. The consumer version doesn't have that ugly wing and the exhaust pipes come out of the back.
