Headlight Recall = replacement or adjustment?
Do they replace all the 2006-2007 headlights with out testing alignment or just the ones that are out of line?
I bought my 2007 Coupe in 12/4/2006 and received the Safety Recall Notice in the mail a few months later. I figured to wait till something happend to the headlight. Well now my passenger headlight is damaged and I decided why not have it replaced.
I call the dealership and they said there is no headlight recall on my car and that they had no record of replacing them. I called the 800 # and they said that the recall was completed January 2007. Would the dealership "fix" the headlight without me requesting it or without telling me after.
I'm trying to find my old Work Order estimates to see if I had my first oil change on January 2007, the oldest one I could find was 3/23/2007 at 3,880 miles. When is the first schedule oil change?

Thanks Mike.
I read alot of headlight recall threads and alot of guys said that they would wait until their headlight was scratched like I did to have the headlights replaced. Do you think that the dealership would replace it asap as if this was a mandatory recall?
I checked my credit card bills for that month; I did not have anything done to the car until March 23, 2007.

there are a couple of large threads about this topic already here, but some specific info for you:
you can read all about this TSB (and any other recalls/TSBs) over at the NHTSA's site here. do a "recall" search for your vehicle make/model/year.
to summarize this recall:
VOLUNTARY RECALL CAMPAIGN 2006–2007 INFINITI G35 COUPE HEADLAMPS
Infiniti has determined that on some model year 2006 through 2007 Infiniti G35 Coupe vehicles, the headlamps fail to comply with certain requirements set forth in Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108.
The standard specifies, among other things, the performance requirements for headlamps in passenger vehicles. One of these requirements specifies the vertical gradient values for headlamps. Another specifies minimum and maximum light intensity of headlamps at certain test points. The headlamps in the vehicles
subject to this TSB may not meet these requirements. This means that the headlamp aim may be difficult to adjust. Also, the headlamps may be too dim when viewed at certain angles. Reduced visibility increases the risk of your vehicle being involved in a crash. Improper aiming of headlamps can increase glare. To correct this condition, Infiniti is conducting a Voluntary Recall Campaign to replace the existing headlamps
with new and compliant lamps free of charge.
applies to only some VINs - refer to this PDF of the TSB (from the site above) as it lists the effected VINs and TSB information. make sure your VIN is in that range.

would be the first time any dealership i've ever dealt with did something without me begging...but sure, it's possible.
if they did then they'll be able to show you records. just ask. if they can't, ask them to do it "again" or somehow prove it was done somehow - maybe the new lights have a different part number on them or something.
