exhaust question.
Hey guys,
I'm just wondering wether or not this is helping or hurting my car? My current setup is FI HFC -> Megan Y-pipe -> Stock Midpipe -> stock mufler. I wanted to retain the stock note just amplify it and this setup is working perfectly however.. i noticed that the megan y-pipe is 2.5'' on the HFC end and 3'' on the Midpipe end I had it jacked up a couple days ago and it seemed or at least looked like the the stock midpipe is 2.5''. Am i correct? if so is it hurting my car's performance? Torque due to lost back pressure?.. any input. thanks in advance.

Are you certain that you have a 3" pipe going directly into a 2.5"? Typically pipes of different sizes have different flange sizes, but I never checked into that for exhausts. They may not follow the norm of most piping.
If that is what you have then that is definately bad. It should not damage the car, but it will absolutely kill the flow and reduce power. I would give you an estimate of the additional pressure drop you would get from it, but I am not at home and do not have my references. I can say with absolute certainty that it will be highly significant.
