Decisions, Decisions

Hello everyone, this is my first post here although I've been a regualar visitor for some time now. I've really wanted a G Coupe but I've always kept delaying my decision. Anyways I'm going to finally get one in August but I went to a Jag dealership yesterday and are offering an 2000 XJR with 40000 miles for $36,000. Anyways I know it's comparing apples to oranges but I'd like to know what you think about it and also if you know any known problems with it.

Re: Decisions, Decisions

would you rather get a brand new car with no miles or would rather get a used car with 40,000 miles? in my opinion, i'd go with the new car.

i rented a Jaguar XKR supercharged a couple weaks ago. jaguars got some nice interior, but i didnt like the loose steering wheel. i think jaguars are more for older people, but who knows your problably at that age.

Well I know I'm probably going to get flammed on this, but I'm actually quite young. Yeah I know I probably will because I've seen it happen before but yeah I guess it'll happen.

Re: Decisions, Decisions

to each his own...

dont worry about SC8, he has a history of causing raucous in this forum! lol... no problem with admiring Jag's, but i will have to agree with SC8 that it is always better to buy brand new, rather than adopt someone elses 40,000mile problem... you will have to think why they sold it at 40k, although it could have been a lease...
and this IS a G35 forum, everyone will say go with the G!

i say go with the G!

Grider, i dont have a history causing problems. that incident with you was the only one. i'm not here to argue, but no need to talk bad about me to others. wat do you mean dont mind sc8?? i didnt say nothing disturbing. i was just giving an opinion on jaguars. i accually happen to admire the jaguar. especially the XKR and its power. i just think its for older people. well, maybe not the XKR.

atluskane, if you like the jaguar more then the G then go with the G. in my opinion, i rather get a brand new G. although, the luxury is far more luxurious in the JAG!! if you get the G, are you gonna be getting the 04 or 05 model??

Re: Decisions, Decisions

yea man,

paying 36k for a used car is not too smart, plus i believe jags aren't very reliable. if i were you i would just wait until december and get the 05' G35 coupe 6MT with 295hp and 19" wheels...

Re: Decisions, Decisions

Yeah I think I've decided to get the Gcoupe although now the question turns to either get the 2004 or 2005? When do the 05' come out anyways? I dunno if I can wait much longer....

Re: Decisions, Decisions

My family has had numerous Jags, all have had electronics problems.

Had to pimp slap my brother for considering an X-type.

Re: Decisions, Decisions

Like what everyone else has said lol... Get the G35, it will be so much more fun to drive then a Jaguar XJR, XJR has an advantage but only in straight line. Nowhere near as fun though honestly. Martin

Re: Decisions, Decisions

Jaguar has come a long way since their late 70's/early 80's models which had reliability issues, but I still don't know how comfortable I'd be with a modern 40K mile, nearly 5yr. old Jag. If it's a car you've been dreaming about, go for it. Otherwise, play it safe and get the new car with a respectable reliability reputation... ...and a warranty.

And you're right, you're looking at an apple and an orange. Decide which better suits your taste.

'05 IP(or ?) 6MT... ...Never too soon to think about modifications!!
