I changed the belts this afternoon to finish my 30k maint. It was on the list and they were making a little bit of noise. Plus I was bored and it was all of $42 from Nissan. It may have just been a tension issue but o well... cleaner purrrrrrr

Saved a ton of money by doin the 30K maint myself. I'd recommend, very easy!

How many belts did you change? $42 was the total cost of the belts? Dang, how long did it take? Wow I thought at 30k would be early for belts but if it only cost you that much and what not...I might just do that. Let me know of the difficulty

2 drive belts, ya $42 for both. Didn't take long, about an hour but it was my first time attempting so I was playing it safe. Props to this thread: http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/342311 and to bythabay for the video: https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sed...eo-series.html.

Just went by feel. I measured by the info in the thread above. I tightened them until I could only turn them about 45 degrees. Took me a couple tries on the A/C belt but it sounded clean once it was as tight as the other. I'm going to borrow a gauge to check it out tho.

Yep, bythabay vids are money! Thanks for doing those man. Definitely a great place to start for anyone doing maintenance. Even if you know what you're doing, the reassurance of watchin someone else do it is always helpful.

i have seen alot for cooling systems fail do to the radiator cap not being changed and yes the tech do spend a lot of time under the hood of your car looking at everthing to make sure that your car will not break down on you and that everything is in good running order also i recom that you get your tires balanced every 6k and keep up on ur alginment

I have a question on this topic as well. I just called to have my 30K service done and almost fell over when I got the price tag of $750. I am sure that price has a ton of fluff in it. I am thinking about just taking the car to a local shop and having them do the necessary maintenance. My question is in order to not void the warranty on the car was MUST be done at 30k? I would hate to void my warranty over something stupid like this. Anyone have any info on this issue?

Get ready to bend over and lube your a$$ for that one.. The dealer will butt rape you on the 30K service.

Man that all seems like an awful lot of work to be done every 30K miles! Mine has 50K (just bought it), not sure what kind of maint. I'll have to be doing soon, threads like this give me some things to look out for though.
