1. Replace engine oil and filter
2. Lubricate all locks and hinges
3. Replace transmission fluid
4. Replace differential oil
5. Replace engine air filter
6. Replace wiper blade refills
7. Replace AC microfilter
8. Replace engine coolant
9. Replace radiator cap
10. Replace engine drive belts
11. Inspect AC system
12. Inspect all lights
13. Inspect transmission fluid
14. Inspect axel and suspension
15. Inspect brake lines and cables
16. Inspect brake system
17. Inspect cruise control vacuum hoses
18. Inspect driveshaft boots
19. Inspect exhaust system
20. Inspect ball joints
21. Inspect steering gear and linkage

The a grand total for the list of 21 items provided to me?!?!

$825.93

Now, for my specific case I am already counting out the following:
5, 6, 7, 9
as:
5. I have a KN Drop in air filter,
6. can pick up wiper blades on my own,
7. already did the incabin filter on my own, took 15 mins,
9. sounds like a stupid thing to replace? lol

What else guys? Can't do anything with fluids on my own as I live in an apartment complex and have no real tools....

I really need the loaner car, but heck, for the right savings I can rent a car for the day!
If youre doing # 3 anyways, whuts the purpose of # 13? Duuurrrrr lol

I disagre, i think that techs at dealers sprint through these services. U now how a tech check over the A/C system...they get in ur car turn on the ac and check for cold air, lol. And if cold air is present, they put a check mark on their paper, theres a half hour diag for ya. Cooling system fails, hmmm, if u mean the guage starts reading hotter then it should from a low fluid level if the rubber gasket in the radiator cap breaks and causes the coolant to leak out causing a low coolant condition, then yea sure it fails, but it doesnt break. If that happens u check to see if u have coolant, see that the coolant is low, see that theres dry coolant corosion around the cap on the radiator, see the rubber gasket on the cap dried out, then u can go ahead and replace the cap, refill ur coolant, and guess what, everything works once again, no harm done. Replacing parts before they fail is a waste. Only exeption is things like timing belts which we have chains(no noise-no problem), engine oil, and brakes if they apear almost worn out.

I just did my 30k service myself. Give a big pat on Bythebay's back. His vids are helpful.
The stuff that I did was oil/filter change, tranny and diff oil change with Amsoil, coolant drained/filled and rotate tires. For the fluid change, it is much easier if a buddy is helping you.
Since I have K&N, so no air filter change was needed. I did my in-cabin filter at 25k.
As for the radiator cap, I highly recommend that you change it. There is a lot of dry coolant build-up in there. Nogotiate with the dealer usually can give you discount on the part.
With the better quality Amsoil tranny/diff oil and other standard parts, I only spent about $150. I am so happy I get to keep the $600 more from what dealer will charge me.

Seems early for the fluid changes. And I've never changed a radiator cap on any car and never had a problem either.

You wont void the warranty if you do the work yourself, just keep receipts for all the parts you replace.

Man, I am sure glad I read this before I decided to let the dealer do it. Quoted me $885.19 for 30k service. With these vids and basic knowledge of tools, I am pretty confident I can do this myself.

That's a good attitude. If you read the manual, you know what needs to be done. I just hate to read the misinformation that a dealer 30k for $825 is oil & filter change and $800 of pure profit. No, they do premium maintenance, more parts, more fluids, more labor - worth it for some, just not for me. I've also had the dealership play 'dumb' about Schedule 1, or 'regular' maintenance, saying they never heard of that. If you read the manual, you know more than the service rep.

im doing mine soon..dealer quoted me 300...automotive work is not my line of work either so following vids is out of the question...so 300 isnt that bad..whats the point of paying for a "luxury" car and not expect to pay to keep up with it...now 800..thats a diff story...

I have an 05 coupe at about 10200 miles (bought at 6300). I just went in today to get an oil/filter change, and the rep there is telling me that it's about time to get my 2 year/30k major service since it's an 05 model. Do you guys think this is really necessary or should I just wait for the 30k mark?

No way! I have a three year old car that has 19K on it and am going to do the 30K maint., at 25K. That is done by my own choice. This guys at the dealers make the bulk of their income from maint. and repairs, just FYI.

30K Service: Do your oil change. Change your cabin filter if you idle for hours near a coal plant or park your car in an active cabinetry shop. Check your tire pressure...

I'm at the same point: 30k miles on my '06 G35 coupe (minimal wear-and-tear)... and the dealer just told me that I need to replace the belts. Is this REALLY necessary? Or, can this be avoided for now??

take a look at the belts and see if they are starting to shred or are excessively cracked. Some cracking is ok/normal but shredding isn't. Usually you can get about 60k out of the belts, but at around 30k they start to get noisy.
