also, since the belts are rubber, they are susceptible to the same wear and tear as windshield wipers - they will dry rot over time. So about every 4 yrs is probably the longest you want to wait to replace them.

Yeah... I just checked them; they don't seem to be too dry... or cracked for that matter. But, I'm not an authority on how (exactly) they should look at this point (?)
I only have 3-4 months left on my lease, and am DONE. If I can avoid this additional cost - I'd sure-as-hell like to do so!! Know what I mean...

Yeah, I would not worry about it at all. Just wait until the lease is over and let them deal with it.

And for maintenance schedules, consider how you drive as factors in maintenance, grandma may not need brake fluid, tranny or differential fluid changed often, but track cars and autocross need this more often than recommended...just how athletes need more water than a couch potatoe..

Just take it to a Nissan Dealership!! I went from a $700 pricetag down to $400! Only thing is the nissan dealer didnt have the capabilities to balance my tires, they said they were TOO dam wide!

Read Service List Carefully....!!

True, Nissan service doesn't seem to have their noses up there azzes like Infiniti....like they give so much better service. Only reason to drive into Infiniti is for warranty work. I like the service on number 3, replace trans fluids and then on number 13 they're going to inspect it for you....at a price. Who makes these lists out, Infiniti must think we have "Stupid" written on our foreheads. I think it was 4 years ago the same list had tire rotation and antenna service on their lists. I can guarantee if you didn't point this out to them they would have charged you for this service....

Old thread revival....

I called my Nissan dealership today for my sheduled 60k checkup, and after I take off the things I can do or have already done myself, I got the $400 price tag.

One thing, though - with an '05 automatic, do I want a transmission flush or just fluid drain/replacement. I bought the car used about a month ago, and have no idea what's been done to it over the years. I'm not technically inclined when it comes to cars, so I'll simply have to take it somewhere to have this stuff done.

I guess I'd get a little piece of mind out of taking to the Nissan dealership (no Infiniti dealership here) vs a local mechanic's shop, even if it costs more.

I'm just not sure about the flush vs drain/refill. I'm pretty sure I want them to check out everything else on the car, though.
