I have had my Coupe for little over a month. I have washed it a few times already and just recently I noticed that there is a single white dot of paint on each one of my wheels. I purchased a 6MT with everything on it except the Navi. thinking it was some type of temporary marker I tried to scratch it off with my finger nail but that did not work. It appears to be reall hardened paint. Anyone have any ideas why they would be there? There is one on each wheel which is quite anoying. Does anyone know how I could get them off? Or should I just take it back to the dealer? Help.. please..

Yeh dude, apparently all the wheels (Sedan & Coupe) have the unsightly white dot, according to the tech guy at my dealer. My Sedan had them and now my Coupe.
Do a search. I think someone got them off but I can't remember how.

The white dot was there for aligning balancing purposes. Mine came off with my fingernail pretty easy while I was washing it.

That's correct - it either indicates the heavest or lightest spot. I don't remember which. All tires come with a similar dot but most tire stores don't have a clue what it is there for.

First you check the balance of the rim, then mount the tire oppisite. That way you will have to only add the smallest weight to get it to balance. Thats good for at least .001 seconds if done right.

You'd think they would have the brains to put that dot on the backside of the rim.

Very cool! Yeah I have to say that it's kinda lame brained but I just want to remove the stuff with out damaging the rims. I'm sure I won't care once I get some 19's but that is gonna be a while. Thanks everyone for your help!

The rims have a clear coat on them. Any strong chemicals used will eat right through it. Just use warm soap and some elbow grease.
