Sorry to hear about that man, hope the car didn't get messed up or anything. You definitely helped me answer my debate of taking my car up to tahoe in the snow. I'd be scared of tearing up my rims with chains, but I guess it's gonna be my boy's expedition FTW!

I used to drive my 350Z in the snow. HELLA FUN!!! I had all-weather 18's on some stockers. I didn't have a great deal of traction, but that was what I was going for so it worked out. I wouldn't do that now...well, not with my son or wife in the car. But if it's just me, unless the snow is high, I'm all in. Lot a lot of hills in upstate NY though.

WTH were you thinking? You were extremely lucky you didn't jack up your car, yourself, or someone else on the road.

Lucky? HA!!! Luck had little to do with it. I didn't do jack@$$ery in the middle of the street. I mean, I was young and somewhat stupid but I did have some sense. Most of my escapades were on side roads and parking lots. However, drifting is the same on snow and dry land. I wasn't in any more danger on snow than on dry ground cuz my drift tires were normally just bald 19's or close to bald. I was a budget racer thru and thru. I shoulda been in a 91 240sx with like 5 different panel colors. I just happened to luck up on a Z. And I did loose a panel or two throughout its ownership. Hazards of sliding I guess. Still HELLA fun. Wouldn't trade that for the world.

"In Soviet Russia, road forks you!"

Check out the Canadian forum. In addition to living in igloos, humping moose, and whatever the hell else we do up here, we also drive our coupes all winter. Just get a decent winter setup and you will have zero problems. 3 winters and I've never been stuck, had an accident, or spun out (intentionally).

Just remember to turn the vdc off once in a while and have a super fun time.

My comment was to OP, not to you. Having fun at the possible expense of yourself and your own property is all good. We all do that from time to time.

I thought the all seasons would be good enough for a winter in Calgary, after the first heavy snowfall the G35 coupe was so embarrassing to drive. So I Put a bag of cement and a bucket of gravel in the trunk which helped a little and ordered winter tires online for the G35 Coupe. It was hell driving it in the deep snow and after a week I finally got my snow tires.

The difference between the all season yokohama's and the Dunlop M3 winter tires were like night and day. These tires are awesome in the snow and they have made the G35 coupe into some kind of a snow machine.

Also I don't have to depend on my buddies at work to push the car out of the snow covered parking lot anymore and i also got rid of the gravel and bag of cement in the trunk. The tires (and rims) were well worth the money.

the g35dude...can you send me a link to the winter tires you got...they sound really good i live in northern nj and when it snows, i basically cant go anywhere...i have stock 19s on OEM performance rims/tires...it sucks and i need advice...who better than someone from canada...

and yes, having my buddies push my G around in the parking lot is not the highlight of my career
