I learned on an old dodge pickup with a 5-speed on the floor. Drove that for about 4 or 5 days before i got my G. While I was no pro with the G when I got it, I at least knew the basics. I stalled and lurched for about a week or two, after that it became less and less. So if you can, learn the basics on something other than a G, as everybody has said the G is not the easiest MT to drive, but once you have the basics, you should be ok to get where youre going in the G, and then about another week or so before you get good at it.

i hope you gained some self esteem and pride by making that statement, because it wasnt helpful towards me or anyone else.

I also said i never fully read the whole thread. I said i came across it. The thread is very long, and I will read it when I have time. For now, I am asking one or two specific questions, not asking "how do i drive a manual".

Enjoy your day, buddy and thanks for nothing!

honestly, unless there is no way for you to afford a replacement clutch possibly a bit earlier than it would be normally then just practice on your car. i mean as long as you arent doing 6k clutch dumps on it, it can take a decent beating

im not the one who needs self esteem her "buddy" and usually people who ASK is it hard to drive stick on a specific car and asking for other alternatives usually haven't driven stick and should DEFINITELY read that thread. Doing so you wouldn't need to ask if you should try it on a beater or not, it all comes down to what kind of driver you are, if u can trust youself on the g35 as your first car to learn stick on then go for it. I did and I havent had any problems with it

as for the question if its difficult to drive stick on the g.. there are COUNTLESS threads on this topic I know because I've read them PRIOR to driving stick and PRIOR to making a thread like this, before you go and take the hard truth up the ***, understand what I was trying to say, again it all depends on what kind of driver you are.

this is what i thought, but i was just thinking if there are other ways that can potentially severely damage the car. Thanks

i understand where youre coming from, but the truth of the matter is, I'm 17, so i don't have the most driving experience on this board. I didn't want to mention that in my opening post because everyone will automatically assume that me being a teen, i am going to rice out the G and race everyone that pulls up next to me.

What i am trying to say is that i am not the stereotypical wreckless teen driver. I am sure I will learn stick on the G eventually (if i get it as my 1st manual car), but I just wanted to see what others have to say.

Thanks for reading my long @55 rant

I learned on one of my buddies integra with a stage 2 clutch. When i got my g it was completely different, but it was really easy to pick up. I give ya 2 or 3 days and you will be fine at driving a stick. It's like riding a bike. lol

yeah

G's are hard to drive...
so get a beater (civic or accord) and learn

however, it take a lot to mess up the clutch

yeah another thing is that if u dont even know anything about driving stick try to let go of the clutch and wait for the friction point for it to start rolling and began to slowly gas. although its not good for your car, its a starting point.
