Need Help on what year G35

I'm new here as you can see this is my first post. I've done my searching so please don't flame me. So here's the situation I have an '08 350Z, which I am very happy with, which I have plans to turn into a moderate track and canyon car (I live in southern Ca), We're focusing more on low end torque and power. I have a '95 Mustang that I drag (it's no longer driven on the street albeit on a weekend night, very late and only every once in a while.) And I am very interested in buying a G35, and going TT for FI. I am looking at around 450-500whp, with lots of high end power, this will be a 2-3 day a week driver (7-8 mile commute) but want it for a freeway car, more interested in 70-120, than I am in 0-60. Are there any big differences to look for in the year of the make, i.e. any benefits of an 06 over an 03, and what would work best for what I'm looking for. This will start as a top end build, and maybe down the line do the bottom end if I'm looking for more.

Thanks for your help.

If you're shooting for 450-500 WHP, you better just bite the bullet and do the bottom end now... or you'll end up redoing the top end as well as the bottom end in a few months when a piston pops through the head. The bottom ends on our cars aren't meant for that kind of power. You figure 450-500 WHP is going to equate to about 530-600 crank HP... which is basically almost double the stock power out put of these motors.

Before anyone really offers any opinions on motors and considerations for the various years, can you tell us if you plan on buying a 6MT or an auto? This will affect what your motor and year options are for the car.
