door guard removal--- any tips

i just peeled off one of my door guards and it is hard as hell to get all the 3m tape off. it almost looks like it damaged the paint. anyone that has removed their's have any tips? i havent buffed it yet, and i only took one off the back quarter panel.... any tips pls help.....peace

You should have done a search prior to removal. There's easy ways to
remove those strips and how to clean it up after. To remove the rest of the
strips use a heat gun (hair dryer) to soften the adhesive, then fishing line to
remove the strips. TAKE YOUR TIME To remove the
glue left behind use GOOGONE or WD40....don't rub hard but saturate the area
several times. Now you can use your buffer with some cleaner or ScratchX
to remove any shadows. Now your ready to buff in some quality wax, should
look even better than new!
