wow... it's funny how many people replied to this post....

Forgive me for saying it - I'm not an "infiniti corporate spy" lol, I just really wanted to know for the reason listed below.

Rougewolf: I know that i'm not going to get any more performance out of a new block - that wasn't my question.

The purpose of my question is simple: My engine IS BURNING OIL - that has been confirmed by the infiniti tech's. However, it has to be burning X amount of oil in order for the dealership to replace it. Whatever problems that are in my engine right now, will only get worse over time. If the time comes where it is so bad that I need a replacement engine, my warranty will be expired.

Not to mention how much I paid for extended warranty.

I checked for "markings" on my drain plug, dip stick and oil filter, and there is nothing whatsoever.

Keep it full, check it every day (hell we used to do that anyway). It will run for a long time that way.

My dad had the same problem with a Chevy back in the early 70's. The dealer said that 1 qt in 800 mile was within factory specs. I don't think so.

Mine has 72K and it still burns/leaks/sucks NO OIL AT ALL.

I added a 1/3 or 1/2 quart once, but I don't know whether it was filled up full on the previous oil change.

Driven it in a mixture of conditions. Lots of short drives in cold weather (Oklahoma cold, not ND cold . Extended driving in warm/hot, and mountain areas, such as a June trip to Utah for 2500 miles. Didn't need to add oil, just jump start a dying battery.

You could just put a vacum pipe in threw the oil cap and hope to suck some oil out if your that desprete but honestly your wasting your time all though most of us agree that Ininiti customer service in general is some times under par, we are not gonna help you screw them over for an engine sinice it will affect all of us in the long run.

My advice go do some praying and hope you burn oil instead of draining it so its a Legit replacement.
