Hello
I really want Enkei RPF1 in BLACK but they are not produced in black.
I know there were special black edition RPF1 but they are all sold out.
So is it stupid idea to powder coat new rim?
I am really considering it so please give me ideas!
Thanks!!

The only thing that should stop you from doing that is a lack of money.

yes, because i'm sure if you keep looking you can find a set somewhere. pm every vendor that carries enkei's, check classifieds and anyone else.Originally Posted by hyunkoon

i wouldn't powdercoat perfectly good wheels. not only does it get pricey for something you could've had from the factory, it might not be as of high quality. and powder coating weakens the wheels.

Only crappy quality ones. I don't know how enkei is but powdercoating will not diminish the strength of high quality wheels.Originally Posted by koksik86

Don't know what this model of Enki's look like but if they're not offered in black
and that's what you want....go for it! Powder coat will not hurt any wheel,
the temp they use isn't high enough. If, when you get your rims done discuss
the different ways your wheels could be powder coated. Think about leaving
the edge of the lip polished or whatever it takes to let the shine show thru.

I believe Gruppe-S sells the Enkei RPF-1 in black. would check that out before you do anything.
Yeah.
I checked grub-s' lastest post of their wheels but it stated all blacks are sold out.
I am wondering if quality of private powdercoating is not good as Enkei powder coating. that is one factors that bothers me doing this.
For the price wise, black edition and powder coating silver into black are same.
Black edition was $1350 and plain silver is $1150 and powdercoating will cost $200-300 so price wouldn't be that matter here.

I would try to get the factory finish if I were you. it is worth the wait.
