A different kind of rim/wheel question for you G owners

I've noticed in many cars, particularly supras, and Gs and 350z's sport this style of rim:

NOT the 'style' literally, but look:

(beautiful car by the way)

as opposed to more common style rims like these:

What I am referring isn't the spokes or face of the wheel/rim, but if you notice the lip on Picture 1, versus the rim/lip on Picture 2, ...

Picture 1 seems to have "staggered lips"?? maybe "multi lipped" ??

I love that style, can someone please tell me exactly what style that would be called?
To me it looks simply beautiful on these rides.

^ yes sir, I haven't purchased the G, yet, but when I do I plan to get step lips myself.
And DevilDog, thanks again for the link, that will give me a much more detailed approach into what I plan on purchasing!! Thanks again.

^^ def. If i could go back and get some step lips i would. When you do get a G i would recommend the market place for wheels. Some good deals in there

The Mustang guys call them "Deep Dish" wheels. They've been used on Mustangs since '01-02ish and also typically done staggered (10.5" wide out back)

I think the look is hot on any car. Dark or charcoal centers and a polished lip around the outside. I'd like to put something like that on my G35 as soon as i can find a rim style I like.

deep dish is actually different, The wheels posted have a STEP in them to the barrel of the rim hence STEP lip. I think it makes the wheels look smaller than ther actually are and are found mostly on XXR, konigs and other mfg's that copy the true deep dish style of original more expensive brand rims.

True with those wheels but who knows if the OP was referring to the actual "step" or just the style of large lipped wheels in general.

I guess it doens't matter what you call it....i think it's a beautiful style of wheel

True, both deep dish and step wheels are beautiful styles. Different strokes for different folks. I love BOTH, but I was referring to step lipped rims only.

That's what I plan to get when I purchase my G..

I would seriously do horrible things for a set right now.. I'm kidding.
