Codes

I have my first service booked and I am having them change the headlight codes. Going to set auto off to mode 2 which is no delay and set auto on to mode 3 which is later than factory. The service writer says this will be done as a courtesy. I have seen others post the writers have been charged for this.

I find the factory auto on is way too early and auto off takes way to long. Instant off works just fine for me.

Re: Codes

I agree that the lights take way too long to shut off. I constantly have people running behing me telling me that my lights are on. Is it possible to have a shorter delay, like 10 secs instead of instant? I am going to have them change it either way. As for them turning on too quickly, mines are okay with that.

Re: Codes

It happens less these days. People are finally realizing that luxury cars have had auto headlights since at least the early 80's. I thought it was funny that I drove into my Infiniti dealership last night, and some lady walking out of the showroom told me I left my lights on. At the Infiniti dealership. Surrounded by luxury cars. With automatic headlights.

BTW, My dealer says the first code change is a courtesy, and any more after that are about $80.

Re: Codes

Originally it was Gordgee who posted them, I think a couple of times. He'll be glad you found them handy.....

Re: Codes

I just spoke with my dealer and they said they have never heard of the different modes. Guys, I talked to the "Lead Tech". He said that's an aftermarket mod. I hate that. Anyone else run into this problem??

Re: Codes

From what I've learned bro, It's just a matter of hooking up the scan tool (Consult 2) up to your computer port and changing some settings. Should be like only minutes..........

Re: Codes

My service advisor has heard of it. But he doesn't have the list of codes, he told me I'd have to get "that one off the internet."

Funny how gordgee's version has an Infiniti logo on the paper.

Re: Codes

I would think these would be in the service manual. Anyone out there have one. Could you please look this up?
