2 Things...

Hey, Have 2 questions for anyone who would like to comment...

1. I notice my idle rpm's run at 650. When I am at a light and i tap the gas, when the rpm's drop the go down the 500, and you can feel the engine kinda shake. Is this normal?

2. I have a weird smell... At first during the fall I only noticed it when it rained, kind of a mix between burning smell/electronics. But now in the winter, I smell is all the time when my heater is on. Has anyone has a smell coming from their heater or a similar weird smell. The dealership said they couldn't smell it... so now I have to figure it out on my own. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

1. Normal, I think it has to do with the "Drive by Wire" system. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

2. Normal if your car is still new.

Hahaha LOL I guess it's not that normal anymore, but check in the engine area see if anything is being burnt by falling off or so.

Yes it is the 6MT, so I guess #1 is normal thanks!

We checked the engine area and they put it on the hoist to check to see if anything was caught on the exhaust... nothing

I have not seen one on the G yet, but you can check the heated core. Old, corroded, giving funny smell.

There have been issues with the heater/HVAC systems in these cars getting a bit musty/mildewy, but that doesn't sound like the issue you are having. Have you changed out the cabin air filter recently? Sometimes the dealer can also spray "frigi-fresh" into the HVAC system to clean it out. You could also try letting the heater run for a while (on fresh air), and then spray Lysol into the open heater intake vents (outside the windshield) to see if that helps.

The smell is normal if you have a low mileage G35.

When I first bought mine and I got on it in anyway, it smelled like I had plastic/wires burning and melting.. Freaked me out at first but that burning smell has been long gone.

Oh, and you have an 04 6MT.. not all 6MT's have oil consumption remember that.

It is the 05+ 6MT with the revup motors that have this problem.
