Ok soo I purchased StopTech Rotors with Hawk HPS pads...and the pads dont reach the entire rotor width...the bottom inch of so isnt touched....what gives?? is this correct?
does anyone else's do this?
does anyone else's do this?
gay....what do you guys propose? possibly taking off the wheels and taping up the rotors with a 1/2" overlap and then spraying it black engine paint? then letting the brake pads cut off the paint over lap? would that work?
Has nothing to do with the brake pads....just exposure.
This happens with the OEM disc also, after market parts aren't immune to
rust due to exposure. I painted mine with high heat black paint three years
ago, I'm probably due again soon. Now would be a good time to paint your
calipers while the dics are drying....fun afternoon project.

My stock Brembos rust like crazy. You should see the light surface rust about 10 minutes after I finish washing it.
It's no big deal.. I wouldn't even worry about it. If it really bothers you, you could always buy some Anodized rotors and they won't rust... but they cost hella big bucks compared to regular ones.

its not the rust that my pads scrap off...its the part of the rotor that my pads dont scrape off...it looks like dog****.

The curb rash on that rim is more of an eyesore than the natural rust of the rotor hub.
Wow sounds pretty good if you want to demolish your pads and lose all braking ability for awhile.
