This has happened at least 6 times since April 2003.

It always seems to happen at the same spot on the same road....It might have something to do with the fact that the car is not warmed up yet.

Anyway, upon leaving work less than a mile away, there is a downhill grade that is reverse banked to a turn to the right...it is an access road two lanes with an emergency lane on each side. Since this car handles like a go cart, it is normal to accelerate into the turn and generally enjoy it.....

Every now and then when going into this turn, I get this feeling of a flat tire, a shudder takes over the car. It is almost like the ABS has kicked on and is pulsing real quick on the brakes....while this is happening it seems that the steering is not very functional, nor are the brakes. It has happened while accelerating, as well as while cruising around 45 or so. For the 5-8 seconds while this happens, it feels like I am driving on a patch of ice and have no control over the oncoming wall that is at the bottom of the grade. Quite a scary sensation.

I was wondering if anyone else has felt such a thing in their G, and what the possible causes for this could be.

I can tell you it resembles the flat tire feel....

Are you familiar with the VDC on the G (not being sarcastic here)? If not, there is a good explanation on the Infiniti website, as well as in the manual. Sounds like you're lighting up the VDC.

Depending on what kind of speed you're carrying into that corner, a downhill reverse camber turn as you've described is likely to cause significant weight transfer onto the outside front tire, and (despite independent suspension) you could get enough lift of the inside (rear) tire to get slippage. As Derek said, that would trigger the VDC which would cut power to the slipping wheel until it regained traction.
If your tires are cold, like you implied, you'd be even more likely to lose grip.
Does the VDC light come on?

If that's the case, and if you enjoy spirited driving, then a properly tuned set of sway bars would let you take that corner beautifully.

(Mind you, in terms of vehicle dynamics, that's pretty much the toughest corner you could ever encounter -- a downhill off-camber, especially if it's a decreasing radius...)

It has only happened at this particular turn....the vdc is more than likely the case.

yeah, what you described sounds exactly like what I've felt when the VDC kicks in. there have been a few times when the VDC kicked in and the light didn't come on. or maybe I just didn't notice it.

I really don't have much experience with the VDC since it's the first thing I turn off when I start my G.

-hey do us and yer beautiful car a favor and keep your eyes on the road. try and replicate that same effect in a parking lot so you don't have to worry about crashing or flyin off tha road just to see if a light comes on.
