its possible to tint the dot matrix. after u apply the tint to the dots you are supposed to use a heat gun on the outside of the window and a wet towel on the inside of the window. this will allow the tint to shrink to the window, almost like its melting the tint into the dots.

You're being screwed. get you $ back....!

You're being taken advantage of by a poor quality tint shop, tell them you
want you $ back or do the job correct! My whole back window was tinted
dots and all 5 years ago, still looks like new....

I have tint problems too. Why does it seem like tint shops never know what they're doing? (anyone know of a good one around NOVA let me know).

If the tint bubbles up around an edge, is there any quick fix I can do with a hairdryer or something?

Your tint shop is being operated by a bunch of tools. There are countless cars out there with the dot matrix and tint applied successfully over it. It takes patience and ingenuity...both of which your tint guys seem to lack. Demand you rmoney back for the rear window so you can take it to another place to have it done.

Actually my tint kind of cured itself. I noticed its starting to adhere to the dot matrix better as the days go by. Im thinking about using my heat gun on the outside of the window like what wxp-g35 said. Im gonna give it a shot. But my tint def looks better now better then it did before.

I also had this issue, minus the cutting the tint short, it will be spotty, but for the most part the tint will take to the matrix. I had an issue getting in and out of my car the first day it was done, causing the tint to bubble a little bit because the window goes up/down a quarter inch whenever you get in or out. good thing I used to tint windows and know how to use a needle and a 3m adhesive applicator (or credit card iffffffff you don't happen to have one of those)

I have this problem on my current car, the dot matrix is very tricky to get it to look "right", since like someone posted above, it's hard for the tint film to adhere to that area. I over time in the summer took a credit card and a piece of microfiber and pushed it down, helped a little bit but in the end I just cut out some black vinyl and place it outside on the window and now you can't even tell it was there. I really didn't even care about it much to begin with but I can see why others would.
