shave 150 lbs. off of your car and save money at the same time, race on a 1/4 tank of gas as opposed to a full tank. gas weighs approximately 10lbs. for every gallon, we have 20 gallon gas tanks, which means we carry about 200 extra pounds of weight. thats equivalent of having either two cuties or one fat *** in your car with you. but be aware, i dont know how this effects weight distribution.

how did you came up with 10lb = 1 gallon of gas?
it seem bit much, don't know how dense gas compare to water but when was the last time u lift 1 gallon of water?

thats why i said "approximately 10 lbs.," not exactly. sheesh, ok, 7 lbs per gallon on a 20 gallon tank, so u save 140 lbs.

So if I race on empty I'll shave 140lbs?

Take out the spare and tools, empty out the car, will save you a bunch of weight. If you want to go more extreme, a couple of racing bucket seats will shave a lot of weight~ Still, the prefered choice is a set of Volk LE37 that will cut a lot of unlaiden weight off the car.

 

eh, I never seem to have a full tank of gas anyways so that doesn't really concern me. haha. Let's face it...our cars are bulky and there's not much that u can do about it. Learn to accept. =P

I've never weighed auto fuel but aviation fuel 100LL is 6 pounds per gallon on a standard day (29.92 hg, 15 C, sea level).
