Smile New here, need advice

Hey all,

I am looking to buy an 05 or 06 g35 coupe come summer. I wanted to get input on some price ranges, or maybe what you paid for your car to compare. Lately I have been seeing 21k-23k for 05-06 models that have anywhere from 25-40k miles. I think this is way too much money, and would be willing to bet you could negotiate price with dealers. Like I said, since i'm new to this forum and all..any input would be helpful. Thanks again.

Hey Blizz, keep in mind you're looking at Infiniti G35s and they're considered
luxury coupes. Nothing comes cheap with our cars not the cost or maintenance. You need to find the newest year with the lowest mileage for
the best price, and make sure you do a Carfax for background information!
The economy is on the buyers side now, nothings selling so it wouldn't
hurt to low ball some dealership....G/L

Welcome....
Sounds like you answered your question. Look around autotrader, craigslist, carmax... to compare pricing. Dealers will always cost more but will leave you with some assurance. You can better deals through private sellers but can run some risks of unknown problems. Always get a carfax before purchasing a vehicle and if possible have someone with some mechanicaly knowledge come check out the car with you.

Good luck

Thanks

Gary,

Thanks for the info. I realize they aren't cheap cars, and I'm stepping into another level in the car world. I own a 2000 mitsu. eclipe, and it's been good to me..but it's time to move on. I'm keeping my eye out for a great price, and you are right it's a buyers market. So I definitely have an advantage, they want to sell cars off their lot and it isn't happening. I'll keep ya updated, I still have tons of time before I make a decision.

You are right, I am sure I could make an offer and then walk away. Since I'm not ready just yet to negotiate, I'll be searching for price ranges. I think I saw an 07 for $24k that had 9,000 miles on it. Crazy!

Thanks everyone, you are all very helpful and nice.

I'd say not to pigeon hole yourself into only local areas - alot of people only look nearby - but the cost to ship a vehicle is not that much, so if you find a great price in another region of the country - don't be afraid to entertain the idea of shipping the car. A guy i work with did that with his Nismo 350Z and got a great price... just something to consider. However - make sure it is from a reputable place - that is important!! G/L

Picked up my 05 with 9,500 miles w/20" rims and orig. wheels and tires for $25k couple months ago! Lot of research will help to your advantage when talking to a seller.
