Mine always comes on at around the 4 gallon mark. I typically fill up with 16.5 gallons because I usually go to the gas station once the lights on. This is the first vehicle I've had where the light comes on before the 2 gallon mark. On all my other rides I've usually had about 2 gallons left before the light would turn on.

 

If I fill up right when the light comes on it is about 16.5 gallons.

Light on = ~17.0 on mine.

Just wondering if anyone switched the G35 gas tank to a 13.3 Gal Gas Tank instead of the 20 gal one? because it the light goes on after i use up approx. 12 gal. and is there a possibility that some one did some modding to the car? i own a 04 6MT Coupe. i bought it used....

I think they just made it to be conservative.

 

I had the OEM nav on mine and when the light came on (very few times, I always try to fill up at 1/4), the nav said it was about 25 miles to empty.

 

I think the question here should be... HOW BIG IS THE FUEL TANK? I'd like to know on a 2005 coupe. Then we could all figure it out by ourselves.

When my light comes on I drive no more than 15 miles and it takes 18.5 gallons to fill up.

 

i have almost ran out of gas a few times mainly because someone at nissan thought it would be hilarious to make the fuel warning light the same color as the entire instrument cluster lol. as for the funny fuel reading the driveshaft runs right under the middle of the tank making a huge bulge inside the tank that seperates the two sides i believe theres a small pump on one side that pumps it back over to the other side with the real pump and in all this it gets confused. on the bright side it means we have about 20% of our tank left when the light comes on thats more comforting than almost every GM truck ive ever driven that runs out of gas at a quarter tank with no warning
