pics of my car after a GPS theft :(

I live in a lovely town in New Jersey where there is very little crime. This morning I wake up and realize theres blue fragments on the hood of my car. At first I was thinking why there ice on my car...it's a beautiful sunny day. Then I see the passenger side window missing and the shattered glass on the ground. It looks like they only took my 4 year old Garmin unit. As a bonus there was a half eaten hamburger bun on my back windshield. Can anyone CSI this out and figure out why there is glass on my roof and hood? Also, does the alarm not sound if my car is struck when parked? If not, can anyone recommend a better alarm system?









Cops didn't do much, just gave me a stolen property form to fill out. Also, I've been thinking about getting an indash navi unit...the only reason I never got one is because my car was previously owned by a famous ESPN football announcer and my XM is still not canceled after 3 years. Either he doesn't know or it's a lifetime subscription. Is the actual serial number of my XM in the dash or is it part of my antenna on the roof? If I keep my antenna can I use my existing subscription with a new head unit?

dude that sucks but the XM is cool...So who owned the car from ESPN?

i'm like 90% sure it's tony kornheiser. I found a lot of his press passes in the car and I got the car in DC (He also works for washington post). I also found a few invitations to events

it seems like they just look for the suction. Mine was basically melted onto my windshield, i bet they weren't too happy trying to pry it off

Sorry to see this... I Hope you get it all worked out and fixed. Hopefully your paint is not scratched up either

I like your wipers, I have the same ones.. They work wonders

Damn that is f8cked up.
That also happened at my job they broke into 2 cars in the middle of the day
and took 2 portable GPS. Cops told everyone to always take the GPS with you.

If you need a window and installer let me know I got a window and Shop vac.
Clean all that up for you and install the window.

Man sorry to see that happen. Probably cost you more to fix the darn window than what it cost for the portable GPS itself. Just goes to show you that there"s ****** in this world who just don't give a **** about other people's property. Hope they get caught!
