Yea I've been reading lots of threads about this on the "search". I just bought my 04 3 weeks ago. I am getting the pump shut off and also the erratic gas gauge.

There is no recall but there are TSB's. There is one recall that involves fuel, however it was on a fuel hose and some guys have said that this recall has caused some of the probs.

I called the stealership and they told me to pound sand. Even though I have 49k miles its over the time part of the warranty by 4 months. I called Corporate and they basically told me to take a flying leap as well. I am going to try Corporate one more time. If I had the car before the time part of the warranty was up you can believe I would've had it at the dealership.

I've also read of some fixes for the erratic readings, involving going through back seat and cleaning the sensors or something like that?

resetting the ecu wont help, i had this issue about a month ago, dealership replaced the sending unit (which i beleive also replaces the shutter valve), for free under warrenty, and its fine now.

Take it to your dealership ASAP!!!! If you still have warranty.

I just took my car this morning and they took a look at my gas tank and sensors and they told me that the sending unit had gone bad. So they are going to replace it with a new one, they again told me that it is a very common problem on the G35 coupe because our tanks were designed to be lighter since we have performance cars and the design had many flaws. I just want to make the car run up to its name. But luckily I still have warranty. Now I have to solve the clicking sound coming from my back wheels.

Thats cool you are still covered. I've read the clicking sound can be repaired by lubing up back in your axle area. There is a TSB for that as well.

If you still have the warranty tell them to check your sending unit, thats what was wrong with mine, just read up to 3/4 and they are replacing it.

Yeah, Im trying to see if they will cover fixing that problem with the clicking sound, they blame the brakes by the dealership that I bought it from said that its not the brakes and they replaced and checked them, so Im caught in the middle I guess. Gonna spend the whole morning tomorrow to figure what they are going to do about it.
