Need some specifics please..
I have searched and looked around and can't find it anywhere.
Stock brembo rotor size? Is it 12.6" or 12.2" or something completely different?
I am trying to get a rotor upgrade made through www.fastbrakes.com for those of us with stock brembos. I am working on a 14.4" and 15.2" application. I didn't even think about the rears until now, but would probably like to have that done too.
I will possibly be sending my calipers and knuckles to fastbrakes to be the guinea pig, looking to see if there is interest too?
thanks.

There is an optimum ratio of rotor thickness to rotor diameter [center of force application radius].
Larger diameter rotors without comensurate increase in thickness just decrease the brake pedal pressure required for same clamping force.
However much more they weigh does increase the thermal reserve but not nearly as much as thicker and larger combined.
A 15.2 vs a 12.6 would probably decrease pedal pressure by 15-20%...............32 vs 40 pounds of force. Might be good for weaker legged females. Even 80 vs 100 pounds at the limit [after fade].
After all if you turn ABS off even the stock brakes will lock the tire.
Let us know how much more the rotors will weigh [good thing] a few pounds each will lower pad/rotor temps by 10%.

Re: Need some specifics please..
smaller rotors are optimum for things such as dyno tuning and 1/4 miles runs, or at least i am told.
i can't remember what my 10.8 vs 13.3 weighed on my maxima, besides the fact that it was DAMN heavy. i am not too concerned with overall brake pedal stiffness, as long as I am taking a little less heat away and getting a much better looking rotor
i will find out the specs on the upgraded stuff, but am i correct in saying the stock rotors are 12.6" in diameter and 1.25" in thickness? i don't have intentions on changing the thickness of the rotors, simply making them overall larger diameter (to fit in the stock brembo calipers).

Not a problem. I'm located pretty close to FastBrakes, so let me know if there's anything they need, I may be able to help them out as I have access to plenty of cars and parts.
Thanks!

I may take you up on that.. I would just tear my calipers and knuckles off for prototyping and r&d, but i'd rather not if i don't have to. Whenever I get a good chance to talk to brian from fastbrakes for awhile I will let you know.
And it did seem odd to me that the rear rotors were listed as larger, its probably the other way around.

The fronts aren't always a larger diameter, but they're usually a lot thicker. Early model G20's have a slightly larger diameter rear rotor as well, however the fronts are a lot thicker.
Caliper piston sizing and proportioning also play a factor in F/R bias, but most people don't ever go that in depth into their brake system either...

Re: Need some specifics please..
Talked to Brian last night and everything is a go. He is checking on 14"/15" rotors in the front, basically trying to figure out the hat configuration and ensure that the rotors he gets will not bring the caliper forward any, simply raise it up higher.
I also mentioned to him to try and do a rear upgrade as well. He has no issues with that, so will probably work that out after the fronts are done. There should be ample room to do a 15.6" rotor in front and a 14.4" in rear with 20" wheels (my own estimates of course).
I will keep anyone posted that is interested, so far this is the only rotor upgrade kit offered and should be priced pretty fairly.
