Mine fell off, got my door fixed by a body shop. I try to push it back in place, but its loose. Do i need to get a new one? Is there something missing which keeps it in place?

 

Do you mean the key hole cover? theres a tab behind it, check to see if thats been broken, if so you need a new one. Many members have popped them on but if you open your door, and look at the jam at the height level of your key hole, these a black plug, behind the plug is a bolt that holds the key hole in place, if you loosen it, you can put latch the key hole cover back on.

 

I see... so to get it back on i most likely will have to loosen the lock and pop it back on, then re tighten?
