Have an 06 coupe automatic, yes auto.... Car has only 16500 miles, believe the warranty is gonna be up soon in July. Got 3000.00 to dump into my ride, but would like any input from you guys, as to what I should dump my cash into??? Or would you recommend me not to mess around with an automatic? Want power but do not want to lose reliability, as this is the only car I have.. Car is completely stock, and would like to bring it to life... Also, what bulb should I run for my head lights? Went through the forum and have gotten mixed opinions on the subject. Not lookin to get a ticket, but just brighten up the road. Apprecitate your time and any info from you guys.. Thanks..

same as we've told the other gentleman.. Intake, spacer, cats (those will give you power and are all bolt ons so you don't have to worry about messing up the engine) Mine is an auto as well so I'd also recommend SxExCx's (Sean's) grounding kit.. (check out my progression thread in my sig to see pics on it installed)..

My car is my DD as well and I've had no problems with mine.. You could also go front bumper or wheels / lowering springs for looks.. That will make you feel like you have a brand new car.

Yes, we know you are. You can edit posts you know, it's one of the buttons on the bottom right of your post.

Also, since you are a "noob", most of your questions can be answered with a simple search within the forum database, since most everyone has done these mods themselves. Search for "Grounding Kit" and look for a relevant post.

Freebie: Basically, a grounding kit strengthens your electric connections within your engine bay, from component to component. Most people would say that it would reduce the "lag" in shifting in manual mode when driving an automatic car. There are other benefits of course, but I'm sure this is the one you're looking for.

You can check my progression thread and check out what one looks like installed (click the link in my signature).. If you're interested, contact SxExCx about his kit.. That's the one I have. His name is Sean. His kit costs 150 regular price. WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!

I've also experienced louder music, and my lights are brighter inside the car as well.. I changed from 03 reflectors to 06 projectors, so I'm not sure if the headlights themselves were affected.. I know the 06 projectors are already brighter than the 03 headlights..

But as GillBoi said, the most noticeable improvement (especially w/ automatics) is the reduced/non existent jerk in shifting (even in normal automatic mode) and the reduced lag in manumatic mode.. You can shift almost instantly.. The car becomes way more responsive.

One quick Question to all the experts here....
Obviously just got my G35 coupe 2005 16K and it had a grounding gear installed....

A. Does Grounding Gear just make the shifting go a little Quicker???

and B. What other little inexpensive things could i do to the G35???

Thank you for all your expert advise guys!

A. If you have an MT, you won't really get that benefit from the Grounding Kit as your version doesn't have the wire that connects to the transmission.. If you have an AT, then that's the largest benefit of the kit.. It makes the shifting smoother (no torque jerk) in manumatic as well as regular mode, as well as decreasing the lag of shifting significantly... I also experienced my radio didn't have to be turned up as loud, and my internal lights were brighter.. Some people say their headlights even shine brighter, but I changed to the 06 projectors so I couldn't tell..

B. I think if you search back in this thread, you'll see that people suggest ztube/air filter upgrades, spacers, high flow cats to help you increase your power.. I would advise you read from the beginning of the thread, it's worth your time because you'll learn the reasoning why.. I was new to the thread in Feb myself and have learned an invaluable amount about our cars just from reading other's questions.

Dude. A few tips.

1) Learn how to spell. No one's going to take you serious if they can't even understand what you're trying to say.

2) Start at the beginning and read the whole thread. Some of what you're asking has already been answered IN DEPTH several times and we're not going to lay it out for you again if you're too lazy to read the thread. You don't even have to search. Just read the thread.

3) Go to the regional section and check out the tuner section. You'll be able to find someone near your location that can hook you up with whatever you need.

I don't know everything and learn something new everyday. But I did spend a good 4 months lurking on the forum just reading threads and searching misc sh*t before I even registered, let alone bought a G.

The best mods are...
intake, exhaust, cats, strut bar

I'm very happy with my mods, stillen exhaust, knetix hiflo cats, jwt pop charger plus Ztube, nrg strut bar and stillen torque dampener. I lowered with springs, but really wish i went with coilovers.

the pop charger is known to have some problems at idle, and i have had only 2 experinces over about 6 months, where the engine stutters and the slip light comes on, but its just a 2 sec thing and the engine didnt die. some people go with cold air intake....

you will feel noticable gains with intake, exhaust, and cats
and a strut bar makes corners alot more fun

Hi all, got my G 3 weeks ago and have been reading everything I can about it. I came from a 90 Celica GTS so the G is definitely a nice change. It came with premium package, navi, sport tuned suspension, and brembos break kit (don't know if that goes together with the suspension pkg). So far, I am really impress with how supportive and clean this forum is. Keep it up guys!!

I've been surfing between G35driver and 6MT for info and mods before posting. I haven't had any luck confirming my questions with the search button. What is the different between the MD copper iso thermal spacer and MD iso thermal? I read that it warms up the air in colder climate area but wouldn't hotter air = less oxygen? It can get to low 30s where I live but mostly low 40's and high 30's in the winter time. Would it be worth it since it's only $40 more.

I want a Z-tube but can't really find any used oem one. Anyone got one that they want to get rid of PM me. I'll take some pictures after I give it a good wash and wax.

Stock, there is a hose that circulates coolant from the engine into the throttle body, keeping it hot to prevent icing in cold weather.

The basic iso thermal has a Coolant Control Valve that lets you shut this off, and save a few HP. You can manually turn it back on when the weather gets cold.

The copper-iso does it all by itself, so you don't have to remember to switch it back on when it gets cold.

I just got the basic; I'll just turn it on for 4 months during the winter.
