I agree with dyenboy on those last few examples. Forced to choose, I'd take g35-forum over those 350z formats, but I much prefer this format.
What I like about this format:
1. large font
2. mellow contrast
3. option to load all messages in a thread on one page
4. most of the frame is used for the message rather than on trivial numbers and blinky spazzy graphics.
I think those other forums are better for building a "persona" as a poster, but as an information source I find them slow to load and just painful to read (especially the Z forums). I'd definitely read this forum less often if it looked like that.

I think the forum is fine the way it is, but I'm a newbie here, so what the heck... the Z forum is fine too, but that black background has gotta go...
