i brought my 1500 mile g35 into a dealer to get the 1st service / oil change. I brought 5 bottles of mobil 1 5w-30 and told them to just charge me for labor/ filter. The guy comes to me and tells me he did it for me but next time to buy 6 bottles cause the engine needs 5 1/2 bottles. WTF??? I asked what he did then if i only had 5 he said he put the rest in with synthetic oil? i said mobil 1? he said yea.. I highly doubt that. SO NOW I NEED TO GET IT RE-DONE cause its really pissing me off knowing its messed up.. question is where in Santa Monica / Los Angeles area can i bring my car and get it serviced without any problems....

the rest? no way he got more than 5 qts in there. He had to have spilled it. If he put 5 1/2, then its overfilled. 5 is right to the top of the high mark.

 

take your car to advantage infintii. My experience with them hasnt been the best but after speaking with alot of other people, my experience was a fluke.

agree with gsedanman. It shouldn't do any harm. I'd be more worried that he overfilled than with the dino oil. He might be a newb that doesn't know the capacity of the G. It doesn't help that the dipstick (which aptly describes the 'engineer' who designed it) is very hard to read.

 

No big deal. Almost all semi-synthetics are made with a mix of regular and synthetic oil in one bottle. Mixing the non synt with full synt isn't a problem.

This is why i never take my car to a dealer. I just had way too many problems with dealers and all my other cars, so now i hate them all.

I rather take my car to a small MOM and POP shop where i can stand next to them ... go under the car see if anything i swrong or just check things out and i see how they do work and usually they car a lot more for my car then dealer would.

plus it costs a lot less...$15 bucks to get it done and I use my own oil and filter. they just do the work.

Remember there is nothing you cant do that the dealer can. Just do everything yourself... i bet it will still come out right and better then the dealer.
