Color Question - LR vs. IP
Quick recap of my story... dealership never placed my order for an '04 caribbean blue coupe. Now I am no longer able to get that color and I do not like the new interior on the '05 (although the added hp is nice). I have also been waiting since March to get a coupe, and I don't really want to wait any longer. So I am now contemplating a different color '04.
I've narrowed my choice down to either <font color=red>Laser Red</font color=red> or <font color=white>Ivory Pearl</font color=white>.
The reason I wanted Caribbean Blue was to stand out from all the other coupes in my area (NYC). The red would probably best fulfill this mission, plus being a sporty car, red fits that persona well. But I am concerned that the red, being so bright and "fast-looking", will be earning me too much attention from the boys in blue.
On the other hand, the white is a "safer" color in terms of the amount of unwanted attention it might draw. However, I've had a white car in the past and wanted something alittle different this time around.
Whew... that was alot to say at once. Owers of Laser Red coupes, could you give me your opinions on how much "negative attention" your ride draws...
and also, because the red is non-metallic, I feel like it would also show grime and alot of damage (I live in NY, the roads are pretty hazardous... would probably have to get a clear bra with the LR paint)

Since you wanted Carribbean Blue, why not get a Twilight Blue G? Plus, TB has been apparently discontinued for '05 which means it will be a rare color as it is on the '04's only. I hear the laser red chips really easy so be sure to get the clear bra. I'm going to buy an '05 G and I was disappointed to hear the TB is going to be discontinued.

Re: Color Question - LR vs. IP
Thought about the TB, but discounted it for the following reason. I am dead-set on getting the interior in graphite, and the TB/graphite combo was just too dark. TB is too close to black for me.
edit: guess i should re-do my sig now too

Re: Color Question - LR vs. IP
go for the ivory pearl, that was my first choice but there was a 6 month wait for 6mt in white, so i went with diamond graphite. the white is very sharp looking and glimmers in the sun, also white is overall the best color to get for any car, because it hides scratches, and dirt to an extent. good luck
Re: Color Question - LR vs. IP
Ivory Pearl!!! No question about it, had mine for 2 weeks now and my buddies think its an awesome color because its rare with the graphite and 6mt, and the ladies well (need I explain) lol..In my experiences the wow factor of Red will wear off, but the sexy clean look of white is everlasting..G'luck either way and actually go with Red so there's less of us IP's riding around..lol
Re: Color Question - LR vs. IP
I believe the story about red attracting more attention from the fuzz is a fallacy. My last car was a red Mitsu 3000GT VR-4 and I was only pulled over once in 4 years driving it (mostly busy Chicago tollway's).
After that I couldn't find another color I liked better than red although black is a close second but SO hard to keep clean the way I like it. Being that the paint is not metallic I see as a bonus if you keep it clean ... it's second only to a swirl free black car for shine appeal. After a couple coats of zaino I almost want to look at my car as much as drive her
Now as for the chips ... 150% get a clear bra or you will be sorry .... like me *cries*. Yes the paint on the hood and front bumper chips easily and now it's too late for me. Tell the dealer you don't want to drive it off the lot without a clear bra or drive it directly to a clear bra shop. I will NEVER make that mistake again.

I went with Red, even though my name says otherwise. I had a done up lightning that got me attention everywhere i went (everytime i filled up somebody said something), with this car i do not notice that but now that i got wheels on it i see people looking at it more. Anyways i say go with RED. You'll get some attention but nothing big. BTW i live in Orlando, FL and i spend time in SOuth Florida quite a bit also.

i think white looks good but as for me I like to detail my car and see the shine.. I can't see the shine in light color cars.

IP/GRAPHITE of course!
It is a rare color even in the bay area 6mt sport non-navi.
Check out my pictures in my profile...and see for yourself!
I did want red but it's too flashy...and i thought if i were ever going to re-sell...white would sell before red would and lower on insurance..SAFER color...

Damn, Fanatic those chrome 18's are nice. I have been regreting getting IP since the day I saw a red one at the dealer for my first free oil change. Oh well, next one will be a red one.
