loaner car help!
Infiniti gave me the 08 g35x for a loaner and my friend was driving behind me and he called me and said I had a huge dent in the back of my car. I had the car at that point for a little over 24 hours. The paper that you sign at the dealer, there's a section that says "car condition out, including" and the guy didn't check either of the options which included no damages, or damages: please explain. But I wouldn't think infiniti would give me a car with a dent because that's advertisement for them! So my dad suggested that I just play it off if they ask and tell them I got the car like that. Cause I guess they don't have proof unless they take pictures of the cars everytime it goes out? And then my friend said he wouldn't give it back to the dealer like that and said he would try to pop it out for me and re-align the bumper. What do you guys think?

It will probably be like any other civil matter, your word against their's. All states have different insurance laws but in Indiana the state says your car insurance is primary to the insurance of the owner of the loaner car (the dealer). If you turn it in damaged and they claim you did it they will most likely file a claim against you with your insurance company. If they do that then it will be the dealer arguing with your insurance company over who is at fault, what proof they have, etc. Basically if they go after you for it, it's going to be a pain. Hope it turns out OK for you though.

I always do a careful walk-around with any rental/loaner car. You won't believe the issues I've spotted.
If the damage occurred when it was in your possession, then it's on you. If the damage occurred beforehand and you didn't catch it before signing the paper, then it's on you too. Unless you return the loaner after sunset, then there's a pretty good chance they will notice. It may be worth it to let your buddy try to fix it.
