whats with the crappy resale value?

So, i was checkin out cars, was thinkin maybe somethin like a rsx type s or civic, n then noticed that g35 were going for about the same, 13-17k, for almost the same year and mileage. Who the hell would by one of the above mentioned cars over a g35? I've driven one of these before (which by the way DESTROYED the bmw 330ci 6sp i drove right before it), so i know its got nothing to do with luxury or driving. Are there some type of problems with these cars which i'm not aware of? breakdowns, tranny...?

can't go wrong with honda reliability. you will definitely find a problem or two with a g35 soon enough.

there are a crapload of g35s and 350zs everywhere and there is more supply than meets demand. plus its a good 6 years old now with plenty of variations in different years.

and yes. economy hits it big time. not to mention, there's a newer model out.

don't forget to factor in cost of fuel, insurance, etc with a G. imo these other factors can make the demand for traditionally cheaper and "economical" small 4 cyl cars like civics higher then something like a G35 (or other luxury coupes) in times like this where the economy sucks and everybody is whoring to jump on the "green" bandwagon.

Don't forget that the G37 kinda killed a the resale value also, whenever a new gen of a car comes out the previous one drops hard. Even the M3 dropped when the new one came out, but we're still here and loving our cars (which are incomparable to civics BTW!!)

yea, I already factored all that in, I guess what I was gettin at was if there are some kinda regularly occuring defects with these cars

It still blows my mind that these joints are going for almost the same as rsx's. If I ever see someone buy a used rsx for the same price as used g i'm gonna slap 'em across the face. I suggest u do the same. and I'm a honda man...my 02 TLS served me so nice

The G37S Coupe has the best resale value of any car in America.

Do you read the newspaper or watch the news? Our economy is in the
sh!tter, nothing is selling. There's been an absolutely beautiful OB G35C at one of the stealerships for sale for at least 2 months....sad! I'd like to
buy my wife a new Vette, even though hers is in perfect shape we'd never
sell it. Trading it in would be like giving it away.... This is exactly what's wrong with our current situation!

New models (G37 & 370Z) + shitty economy = poor resale values.

resale? I never buy a car because of the resale. I buy a car because I plan to keep it for 7+ years.

Whenever I'm selling resale seems weak. Whenever I'm buying it's strong.

ive been hearing that new g37s are going for thousands below invoice. the new car market will directly affect the used car market.
