Location of fire extinguisher *56K Warn*
That's a pretty big in-cabin fire extinguisher on what I'm guessing to be a street car since the interior isn't gutted. That's the size of the one in my kitchen pantry! Haha! I think it's in a bad spot because 1) could pop next to you in a side impact 2) you WILL kick it entering and exiting.
I would mount it in the trunk, but if you must have it in-cabin, passenger side or behind the passenger front seat horizontally right up against the rear seat bottom cushion so you can reach it.

i saw a thread on here or one of the others within the past 3 weeks where someones G caught fire....it was the trash can next to his G that caught fire and spread to the car but still.
To answer some of the q's.
I thought a 2.5lb was big too until, I went a talked to the fire station and they said a 1lb or 1.5lb isn't going to stop a fire that is already going by the time you notice it, stop the car and get to the engine bay. They said a 2.5 would be better.
I am boosted, and the FMU and Aux pump is about 3 inchs off the ground per the mounted location for the Vortech, so this is a cheap investment for maybe being able to save my car if something goes south.
The person who made the comment about Rice, is just a Tool, thats all I am going to say about that.
I thought about putting it in the back, but every once in a while I do have people back there, so I would rather have it where I don't have to worry about people messing with it.
Don't want to put it on the passanger side because it will be harder to reach, same thing with the trunk.
It came with dual clamp mount, my current plan to take a piece of alum and put it behind the carpet and use that to reinforce the bolts mounting it to the carpet. The carpet is then secured to the sill via the covers that go around the plastic clips. Should be enough to hold it in place even in a side impact.

if for some reason a small fire started u could put it out and save the car that has so much money into that insurance wouldn't give back, I dunno makes perfect sense to me..just mount it somewhere not seen and out of the way like the trunk..if u didn't have one and a fire started in your car u wish u had one..it's like car insurance we don't use it much but we have it in case something happens..
And I'm not gonna start with the vents on his hood. But whatever it's his car not mine...
The only app worth having a fire extinguisher inside the car is if you're fully caged with harnesses on a track car. If you can't get out, you need to fight off the fires. Otherwise, keeping one in the trunk works fine. Back seat doesn't sound as bad either...

Well that was going to be the place, but the bottle is two long to make it look right. I made up my bracket and mounted it right there on the floor. Its damn secured, should go anywhere, and unless you drag your foot over the sill, you will never it with your foot. I can even rest my foot on the dead pedal without problems...
