Lost to a 6MT

I saw this guy with a white coupe 6MT and we started chatting about the G and Infiniti cars. As we were leaving he asks if I wanted to do a quick redlight run. (I noticed he had out of state tag) I say sure but we'll have to break off early because there is a police precinct not too far down the road. We take off and we are even through 1st, he chirps second and eventually gets his door handle in front of me as we shift into 3rd then we break it off.

Re: Lost to a 6MT

LOL

Yeah I was kinda drooling when he chirped 2nd. sounded cool. By-the-way, this was not to incite a war over the two tranny's just an interesting/rare encounter with another G in my area and I just wanted to give PROPS to the 6MT brethren.

Re: Lost to a 6MT

Chin~up, those MT guys need that extra little stick to make up for there own short comings!

It's like that Micheal Jackson joke... What does Micheal Jackson, and Manual Trans. drivers have in common?

They both like playing with little sticks!

Re: Lost to a 6MT

Haha, I'm not surprised the 6 manual pulled slightly. The extra cog and lower ratios are a bonus. There's no doubting that if all goes as it should, then the manual tranny will win every time.
But one missed shift, or any kind of mistake, then the outcome is diff. , and from what i've heard lately, there aren't many 6m/t's without some kind of issue.

Re: Lost to a 6MT

Oh GOD! I just realized something!!! Your talking about a MT sedan vs. and AT sedan.

GUYS why try with sedans. Realize the fact that your OLD, and bought OLD-MAN cars!!! Who cares about an AT vs MT when its got 4 doors!!!

Re: Lost to a 6MT

No ours were both coupes.
I didn't get time to power brake because I saw the light getting ready to turn. I left VDC on because there is a slight dip in that intersection that always makes me lose traction when I floor it.
It was interesting because off the line is where I have beated another 6MT then he eventually caught me and we were doing the yo-yo thing back and forward.

This run was very lenear. He started puling a split second after he shifted it was very gradual. As soon as I shifted to 3rd he pulled ahead by about 3 more feet. Our exhausts sound good right next to your window at WOT.
