Question about 110mph for 3 hours straight!

Hi all I just got back from driving from LA to Frisco and back and when I left I pretty much stayed over 110mph for 320 miles straight I wann't to know if this bac for our engines? over the weekend I put 700 miles on my car. lol it was fun though I raced like 10 cars going and coming. Spent like 10-20 minutes at 150mph and then slowed down a few times and so on killed like 1,000,000,000 bugs on my hood, bumper and windshield.

it shouldnt be too bad. but dont be doing it all the time. they ran a VQ35 engine at 7100 rpm and it didnt blow up for 15 minutes. pretty good.

I've read of Nissan trannies going into safe mode at those sustained speeds. No harm done, just has to be restarted.. appearently the G has better cooling than a maxima. I know someone who has driven their Q45 like that w/o problems. Since we have Q trannies, I guess we can do it. (or have a well placed tranny cooler)

Driving at 110+mph on a highway for 3 hours!? That's like having sex for a whole day, I'd figure you would eventually get tired of it and slow down.

LMAO!

What I want to know is, how did you pull off 110 for 3 hours on the 5? or did you take the 101?

Re: Question about 110mph for 3 hours straight!

Was this really early in the morning when there was no traffic at all? I live in southern california and if you took the 5 to get to san franfcisco I don't know how you did it through all that traffic but sounded like fun.

Re: Question about 110mph for 3 hours straight!

I don't believe it. I have driven that highway many times and there is no way one can do what he is telling. Too much traffic even in the wee hours of the morning. On the other hand, there is this highway in Texas along the border with Mexico where there is nothing from miles on end. I believe is called the VanHorn pass. At the time I had a sentra and kept it at 110 for about 1 hour. Then I had to slow down 'cause my hands were sweating too much. Too intense for me.

Glad I wasn't on the freeway then. Time and a place for everything, and that was neither.

I anticipate a "How can I beat my speeding ticket" thread coming soon.

Just my opinion. No need to start a flame war.

I think it's totally possible. Also if you turn your aero diffusers upside down at 150 you'll leave the ground instead of them holding you down.
