30K Service $495?

Hey guys....I have just over 30000 miles on my 6MT coupe and I just got off the phone with my dealer. I was told it was $495.00 plus tax for the 30,000 mile service, included this:
*New Engine Belts
*New Radiator Cap (he says Infiniti recommends this be swapped out at 30K miles
*Oil Change + Oil Filter
*New Oil Drain Plug
*New Microfilter for A/C
*New Air Filter
*Flush all fluids and replace with new
*Manual Transmission Fluid
*New Wiper Blades
*Rotate and Balance tires
*Few other minor adjustments and whatnot...

I think that was most of it....does this seem right? Is it worth it?

Thanks for the info....I don't really mind paying it, but should I just bring it there or any other options?

It seems a little steep, but if they really flush and change all fluids including brake, tranny, antifreeze, it will make it somewhat worth it.

Where do you live and which dealer? Maybe other options are out there.

Ft.Lauderdale, FL.....Infiniti of Coconut Creek

I mean, if im gonna pay $400 somewhere else, the extra $100 doesnt really bother me.... if its like $300 somewhere else, I'd do it....

Re: 30K Service $495?

*New Engine Belts $22.95
*New Radiator Cap (he says Infiniti recommends this be swapped out at 30K miles $8.95-14.95
*Oil Change + Oil Filter Depending on Oil type 25-90
*New Oil Drain Plug $3.00
*New Microfilter for A/C
*New Air Filter $8-12
*Flush all fluids and replace with new
*Manual Transmission Fluid
*New Wiper Blades
*Rotate and Balance tires
*Few other minor adjustments and whatnot...

Not including wiper blades, tires, fluids (replacement and flush), micro air filter, and taking into account you're using synthetic oil its coming out to $144.00 ish not including labor aswell.

i got most of my prices from
http://infiniti-engine-parts.com/search-results.html

Hope this helps... They should give you a break down of each cost.

Re: 30K Service $495?

I have an Acura TL (as well as a G35C) and the 30k and 60k service on the TL was about $500. They did a lot less for me than what your getting from your dealer. My G35C has less than 15k miles on it, so no comparision there yet.

You are getting belts changed, flush and fill all fluids. Seems pretty fair to me.

I live in the Baltimore-DC area.

Re: 30K Service $495?

How much of a gearhead are you? Personally, I find $500 a complete rip-off, but only because I can and do all that stuff myself. I even rotate my own tires with my other cars. (Not even going to bother with my stock 18's.)

If you like doing your own maintenence, the stuff listed isn't very hard at all. I also have a TL... The only "maintenence", I'll have the dealer do, is replace the timing belt, around 80,000 miles or so.

Re: 30K Service $495?

does anyone have or know where i can get the printout of the 30,000 mile service recommendation? I'm just curious...with our Expedition we bought, we got a whole printout of what to do at whatever mileage, etc. I'll just bring it to my personal mechanic and have him do it all using the infiniti parts I guess.... Help?

Re: 30K Service $495?

In the kit with the Service manual there is a little booklet telling all about the maintenence and says what they do at every service

Re: 30K Service $495?

are you getting new blower belts too?? make sure to get the goodyear (rib-cut) versions, NOT the thick-a## gates one... and the jackshaft belt SHOULD be still good, unless you've noticed aging....

maybe its not sucha bad deal afterall??? (blower belts are spensive!!)

steveinmd: I thought Acura (just like BMW) took care of all the scheduled maintenance so you, the owner, didn't have to pay for it?

Re: 30K Service $495?

I believe Acura only gives the first oil change & the first scheduled maintenance service free. I'm in Toronto (Canada), so it may be different

Re: 30K Service $495?

Yeah, with my wife's TL, only the first oil change was free, so it's not a Canada only thing. (I'm in the Pacific NW)
