Turn Off TPMS - Tire Pressure Monitor System

Hello all... sorry if this question has been asked before, but I was wondering if there is a way of turning off the TPMS so that with snow/tire package that does not have system in the wheels will not make the light come on the dash?

Sorry again if this question has been asked.

Re: Turn Off TPMS - Tire Pressure Monitor System

i have heard from many people that it does not come on when you change the wheels, it just wont work anymore. I am about to get 19's and do NOT want this light popping up.

my guess on the response you will get first is "try an ECU reset". this seems to be the most perferred meathod of making dash lights turn off haha

if your ar came with 18's, you have the TPS system, and if you change out your wheels and do not have TPS in new wheels, you will get a light on the dash after about 20 minutes of driving. Its just a little yellow light on the dash that stays on. You turn off the car and turn it back on and its gone again for another 20 minutes. You either live with it or buy a set of sensors..

And your in luck, since i have a set for sale

Re: Turn Off TPMS - Tire Pressure Monitor System

I have 19's on mine and I can go for days or weeks without seeing that light... Long drives or short... Then all of a sudden it'll be there... I went for about 3 weeks without it coming on, had some reprograming done on my BCM yesterday, (Headlight delay) and there it was on the way home... Luckily it's not some blinding warning light, so I'm ok with it... It would be cool to disable it though...

My experience is that it lights up either after about 30 minutes or 50 kms. Like others have said, shut car down, start back up and the light no longer appears until the next cycle.
Otherwise you can bring it to the dealer and they can disable it entirely.

I have had TPS light come on only twice since putting on new wheels 2 months ago. It is a small light and not bothersome when it came on. It went away after car was re-started.

I got the new wheels & treads a month ago & have yet to see the monitor light come on at all. I drive 45 minutes to work.

ditto... except it's probably more like 50-60 minutes for me, and maybe 60 miles or so?
