Cool story!
Yeah, the 427 Cobra is one of my favorite cars of all time. I will own a good replica some day.
I had fun with one on the freeway in my Z06. It was an exact replica with a 427 side oiler and everything (was chatting with the guy at the car show earlier). We both nailed it from a 40 MPH roll. He SMOKED me in my Z06 - it was wild. It was awesome to see that car just squat and bolt, and the sound was incredible - it was LOUD!!
I didn't feel bad at all losing to that car It's a mid-11 second car with high 120's trap speeds right out of the box. The pisser is that car handles incredibly well too. It'll run the slalom at over 70 MPH and pull a full 1 G on the skidpad, basically running with today's exotics in handling. Amazing for a 40 year old car, which is actually running on a chassis that is 50 years old. The only thing that is weak about it are the brakes, but relative to the 1960's they're actually pretty good for their vintage.
2003 G35C, 6MT, DG/G, Aero/Nav/Premium
2002 Corvette Z06, Electron Blue/Black, headers, intake, exhaust, 380 rwhp
