SIMPLE FIX FOR PASS. DOOR RATTLE!!!

I after having my car in the shop twice now for the passenger door rattle TSB it was still not fixed. I just got my car back yesterday from infiniti and I thought they fixed my door rattle. Well today, I heard it again and needless to say I was pissed. When I investigated where I thought the rattle was coming from, somehow I could reproduce it by smacking the passenger seat. This was quite a baffling surprise. And it turns out that the passenger seat belt, no matter where you position it, rests about 1/4" away from the side of the door and whenever I went over a tiny bump, it smacked the door panel.

SOLVED!!!

Now I just need to put a small pad on the door or something. I need to brainstorm to find a good remedy. I am very interested to see how many door rattles are from the seatbelt.

Steveareno,

Try turning the seat belt buckle around 180 degrees on the belt. This will place the aluminum against the seat and away from the side of your car.

Another trick, w/o turning the belt around, is to recline (slightly) and translate back the passenger seat. This will "squish" the seat belt between the leather seat and the plastic so that it will not rattle.

If you like having your passenger seat further forward I suggest flipping the buckle around 180 degrees.

Post back with the results.

I agree with neffster,

I just have the buckle turned inwards, so no rattles here

I just recline the seat a little bit and then use the seatbelt holder on the side and angel it forward, so it's horizontle. No more rattles.

Also...if you start to notice rattles in the rear...it's from the rear seat belts...I just buckle both of them into place, problem solved.

love the rattle threads. I think these tips are the ones to finally solve all my problems in the rattle arena. THANKS to whomever came up with the weatherstripping in between the dash and the windshield. That was a winner of an idea.

Steve,

All you need to do is connect the seat belt. That's what i do for the front and rear and no rattle...BTW, are you going tonight? LACR...call me
