This is a pic before I took off the clear bra. It saved me a lot of paint scrapage.
Can anyone give me a ballpark estimate on repair cost? Ive never had dents in any cars before so I just want to brace for the worst.
Also, do you think a bump shop will be able to get that shape back? It is a unique spot where it is flat then bends inwards. Has anyone had dents like these before and how well did they come out?

OUCH.........sorry you messed up your car....
From the looks of the damage, I would guess thats about a $1,000-$1,500 repair.....probably be able to pull out the fender, and then a little body work and repaint and new clear bra material.

I don't think one of the pull a dent shops will be able to fix that type of damage. They are great with dings and a crease, but yours is pretty messed up in an area that is not really flat......

Just recently I went to estimate a similas scratch (not on my G) at a local shop and they estimated around $200 without re-painting and around $800 with re-painting.

It's really the same material, put on by the factory on the rear quarter to eliminate alot of road chips........

Whatever the price of the rear fender and paint comes to.. plus install and labor of course. Shouldn't be insanely bad, luckily this car isn't unibody.

My very first suggestion would be to check with a paintless dent repair. They work wonders. They will be able to get a good portion of that repaired without paint. Give it a shot before you take it to a body place.

 

It doesnt really need repainting, at least not right away. I just want to get rid of the dent. Its a good think I have DG and not Black. Well, i will take it to a good bump shop and see what they can do before i dip into the insurance.
To answer what happened, there was a parked garbage truck in front of my garage and I tried to get out and cut it too close and hit the plaster and wood of my garage.

I say buy some new fenders. I think there's a group buy for some pretty awesome looking ones.

 

don't feel bad, i did the exact same thing coming home one day because i was rushing to get home. for me however, i just scraped the front left bumper a bit. because of the clear bra, no damage was done except for some scratches on the clear bra. but either way, i ran out to home depot the next morning and bought some padding and stapled it onto the sides of my garage. luckily, they had tan foam-like padding for pipes that matched the color scheme of my home's exterior.
