Well, stop putting your nuts in front of the air vents all the time.

Re: A/C NOT COLD ENOUGH???

the AC compressor on the G is slightly different than previous nissans (so says the FSM). It has a propotional swash plate, so it can vary capacity along with cycles (RPM).

There are several modes of operation. There is engine not warm yet, < 1500 RPM, over 6K RPM (off), among many other modes that will affect cooling.

However, what I've noticed most is a *definate* ~2100 rpm boost in cooling. I can really feel it immediately. I have a 5AT, and the ECU shift so early (because we have the torque for it), that the compressor just isnt spinning very fast. Its very hard to overcome the heat soak of the car sitting in the heat. The FSM recommends 10 mins of running before checking the temp. You're a sweaty pig by then.

My suggestion is to pick a gear that will keep you at 2200-2500 rpm. Sustain that for a few mins and you will overcome the heat soak *much* faster than usual. If youre on the hwy, youre probably going to be in that range already.. But yeah, tooling around the city can be frustrating for the first few mins. Remember, when you pop into MM mode, it will automatically drop you down 1 gear (usually perfect). You'll only need to do that for a short time.

Re: A/C NOT COLD ENOUGH???

I have Huper Optik 40% and with the AC at 70 deg F, it's usually too cold after awhile. I prefer 72 deg F. The AC goes down to 60 deg F, so it's plenty cold for me.

Re: A/C NOT COLD ENOUGH???

I had this problem on three of the four cars I test drove. I was disappointed, but when I picked up the car I was going to buy.. The A/C was ice.

Re: A/C NOT COLD ENOUGH???

Mine gets real cold, you can't stand it if its blowing on you directly! Maybe its a Canada thing, because its winter 10 out of 12 months a year, the AC doens't get that cold!

Re: A/C NOT COLD ENOUGH???

What can I say, I like to keep my boys cool.

There was a mod that billR did to the AC line, protecting it from the engine heat. I suggest searching for that if the ac isn't cold enough for you.

Re: A/C NOT COLD ENOUGH???

"A/C is overrated anyways. It taxes hp and it makes the revs drop way faster than normal (which f*cks with my drivability of the car)."

Really? I like of prefer to have the revs drop faster than normal. It's a pain to have to wait for the damn rev to drop when you want to upshift without pausing for what seems like 2 seconds.

Re: A/C NOT COLD ENOUGH???

i wonder how fast it drops with a lightweight clutch, pulleys, and the AC full blast. must be hard to shift that fast.
