Re: 6 Manual VS 5 Auto
A person here once said, if there's any doubt with what to get, then you don't want an MT.
While another said: "Who gets a G in automatic? It's like marrying a supermodel and only being able to shake hands."
I'm a daily driver!

Re: 6 Manual VS 5 Auto
I'm one who really believes that if you have to ask the question.. Go with the AT. The G is one of the cars that comes with a sweet automatic transmission.. and for the times where you want some control.. Punch the shifter to the right and pick your gear; have some fun with that.
It's true that MT gets real annoying real fast in traffic.. but most MT owners don't care. We are all set on having 3 pedals and 7 gates. =)

LOL Wrah you deserved that =) JK, anyway I wish I had a 6spd but am not a daily comuter to work, just school everyday!! Go drive both, simple solution. See if you can handle the manual every day, go early in the morning and see if you can function lol.. I would say auto for you also if your considering one or the other. Martin

Re: 6 Manual VS 5 Auto
My 5at is my daily driver. I drive around town a lot so it's pretty much worth it to me. The auto tranny is pretty sweet and the manumatic mode works ok, it seems unresponsive at times until you get used to it (yeah I'm gonna try the grounding kit). But I'm happy with it.

Re: 6 Manual VS 5 Auto
We have a 5AT - my wife's choice. Frankly, I'm quite happy with the auto, and I've had manuals before that I've had fun driving hard.
But for me, the whole fun of having any manual, is choosing your gear, and KEEPING the car in that gear as you wind it up, or letting up or downshifting and using the compression to brake.
The auto gives you all that, as well as the fun of slapping through gears. It's just not such a pain in the butt ALL the time like a manual.
It is a very good auto, too - the same as the Q45 so it is tough, a good feeling.
All around, I think it is a great compromise. The no-brain luxury of full auto when you are tired, or in traffic, or just don't feel like being Speed Racer at the moment. And the manumatic there anytime you want, to give you what I feel, at least, is the important part of having a manual.
Hugely powerful yet with a liquid cat-like elegance. The car has it too.
