Mod Chip for the G coupe?
Mod Chip for the G coupe?
Would it be a good thing to get a chip for the coupe?
My friend got one in his 06 6mt audi a4. He said it pushes a bit more on HP.
Would it be a good idea to get a chip?
pros/cons?
Price?

I hope you have your flame suit on....
The mod chips that you see on ebay for the G are fake, and dont do anything. The only thing that you can do is a tune/ecu Upgrade. but you would only do this after you are done with your performance mods so that you can get optimal HP.
There is a "chip" that actually increases throtle response called the Sprint booster. it goes for around $200-300, and takes about 5 min to install.

Awesome!
Thanks, just what i needed to know. I know the ebay ones are fake, but I've seen other chips sell for a few hundred. So, I thought maybe there are real ones out there.

The problem with electrical "drive by wire" cars is that the throttle body and the gas petal aren't physically connected, so when you mash on the gas it still opens slowly. Once they are synced you will notice a much improved throttle responce.
Not sure about the others but if you get an Osiris tune they do this as part of the standard package.

I've been trying to get info on what the diff tunes do and if it's worth the $.
So it really doesn't remap the hp or torque delivery.
Anyone know of any substantial gains have been had with basic mods like the ones I have below, including aftermarket exhaust?
Nothing really big's gonna happen unless you slap a turbo on...
But high flow cats or test pipes and then exhaust will definitely help.
I noticed a difference when I put mine on
Getting tuned didn't really increase my max HP much, but got me a LOT more low end torque to play with. With all the breather/exhaust mods my car was running really lean <2500 rpms. The biggest thing I noticed was the smoothness of the power, crisp throttle response, and sexy it sounded. It feels much more like a "well oiled machine" now.
