Shaky When Shifting?....

I have a 5A/T CB coupe, and I guess you can say that I drive my car aggresively, now when ever I baby it and drive normal, the car shakes when it shift from 1st to 2nd or form 2nd to 3rd. It feels pretty bad, i dont know what it is or how to get it fixed. I dont think it can be from me driving on it tough everyday because it should be able to handle that. I did bottom out once or twice before, because I live in New York and its very hard not to, do you think it could have been from that, do you think I hit anything underneith the car?

Sounds like something funny going on there bro. Better get in to the dealer and let them have a look. Good luck

Hard to tell from your description, 'cause everyone drives and sees things differently. Any number of things can cause the shaking you mentioned, from tranny problems, clutch problems to engine and tranny mounts. For example this can also be caused from short shifting, where you are shifting below the RPM 'sweet spot' of the gear you are in, when you do this it is normal to start gasing before your clutch is at the right spot on the release.
So, with that said, get the dealer to check it and see what they say.

Re: Shaky When Shifting?....

Merlin what are the shifting sweetspots for the auto?
i am interested in it because my shift from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 also isn't as crisp as 3 to 4 or 4 to 5, i don't know if i am shifting too early or too late

Re: Shaky When Shifting?....

Remember I have an Auto Sedan, which I shift at about 4k when in Manual Mode, otherwise when lazy I just leave it in 5M and let the computer do the shifting. Try that if you want and see what happens.
